I just finished the “Build a Meme Generator App” on CodeSchool.com. This was the final tutorial for the Android technology on the site.

I definitely had a lot of fun with this one. The presentation is a little different, as instead of separate tutorials this is one hour long video with the Android instructors walking through how to build an app.

This app was fun and easy to make, the tutorial walked through different layouts and making buttons actionable through use of intents. The Picasso library is used, and the importance of app permissions is discussed.

This video is definitely something anyone who is new to Android dev should try. It’s quick, easy, fun, and you will learn a lot of great basics for the platform.
